The Refuge Vulnerability Assessment: Conducting Vulnerability Assessment and Identifiying Strategies for Management Options is being undertaken by NatureServe through a cooperative agreement with the Fish and Wildlife Service advisory staff, pilot refuge staff, and reviewers. The project is developing, testing, and publishing a methodology for assessing the vulnerability of refuge resources and infrastructure from a variety or stressors including climate change and supporting development of strategies and options for refuge management. This project has produced a draft RVA handbook illustrated by two pilot case studies. The handbook is intended to be reviewed and eventually published by USFWS as one of their series of CCP guidance documents.
