The Marine Integrated Decision Analysis System (MIDAS) was developed to assist the Marine Managed Areas (MMA) users and managers in understanding the critical factors that influence MMA effects so that they can plan accordingly, to estimate likely MMA effects based on the ecological, socioeconomic and governance conditions, and finally, to advise management plan revisions that will result in optimization of outcomes and outputs.

The IAN symbol libraries contain over 1500 custom-made vector symbols (in 32 categories) designed specifically for enhancing science communication skills. The Digital Coast: Legislative Atlas is an innovative Web-based information-access tool that allows coastal resource managers to better understand the complex legal jurisdictions and regulatory framework of our nation’s oceans and coasts by visualizing this information in a dynamic Web-mapping application.

MarineMap (previously named Doris) is a web-based application used for designing marine protected areas (MPAs). Users with a password may view marine geospatial data layers, draw prospective MPAs, share these MPAs with other users (or keep them private), and assemble MPAs into arrays.

IVS 3D's Fledermaus suite of software provides interactive and intuitive tools for visualization, processing, quality control and analysis of multibeam sonar and related data. Its use significantly improves efficiencies in areas such as: nautical charting, geologic interpretation, the assessment of seabed habitats, planning routes for pipelines and cables, and the identification of geohazards during engineering development.

Keypad polling is a decision support tool commonly used in public meetings to obtain anonymous feedback from participants at key decision points. This feedback is important in public processes as it allows the group to confirm whether consensus is reached or it may inform the process facilitator that additional information or discussion is required.
