UNIBEST (UNIform Beach Sediment Transport) is a software package which contains tools for the computation of sediment transport. The package consists of three models:

The IAN symbol libraries contain over 1500 custom-made vector symbols (in 32 categories) designed specifically for enhancing science communication skills. AguaAndes/Waterworld is a web based policy support system (PSS) based on the FIESTA hydrological model (Mulligan and Burke 2005; Mulligan et al., 2010; Bruijnzeel, Mulligan and Scatena 2011) and previous policy support systems including DESURVEY PSS).

Developed by the National Coral Reef Institute, Coral Point Count with Excel extensions (CPCe) is Windows-based software (PC use only) that provides a tool for the determination of coral and substrate cover using the random point count method on transect photographs.

By integrating biodiversity, socioeconomic and protected area datasets, the Ecosystem Assessment and Reporting Tool provides a simple, but powerful interface designed to answer questions such as “Which ecosystems are least protected?” “Of these ecosystems, where and how do we need to improve management?” and “Where are the opportunities to most efficiently reduce threats to these ecosystems?” The EAR tool has been designed around The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC) approach for calculating “Effective Conservation” (Higgins et al, 2007).

The EcoGIS project is developing a set of GIS tools to better enable both fisheries scientists and managers to adopt ecosystem approaches to fisheries management.

With a grant from CICEET, researchers from the University of New Hampshire have developed the Eelgrass Restoration Site Selection Model. This GIS spatial model allows coastal managers to rank the potential of different sites within an estuary for eelgrass restoration, thereby maximizing the impact of their financial and operational resources.
